Title (2025)
Artist: Howie Tsui

Location: Oakridge, Vancouver, British Columbia
Material: Shou Sugi Ban hemlock

This work translates the language of food and culture into carved glyphs. Each symbol is a visual mark: a character, a memory, a moment. The charred wood carries centuries of Japanese tradition. The CNC machining brings it into the present.
