Project Details

​

Flapper Wall is a three part custom architectural installation made
up of several ladder frames of varying heights which hold custom
ASA (acrylonitrile styrene acrylate) stand offs and caps. Small, thin,
specially cut stainless steel flapper chips with vertically brushed
grain, hang freely from the stand offs which allow them to swing
and move with air turbulence. The reflections off the flapper chips
create a wash of light and color which ripple in waves across the
surface of the wall. When paired with RGB lighting (by others) it is
reminiscent of the Aurora Borealis.
